How's THAT for a grisly topic........would you like to know how much "time" you have or would it ruin your life to know and live with that over your head? Good topic for Halloween I figure....... Not doing this as poll but just to hear some chatter......

I'm inclined to say no, but I suppose it would depend on whether or not I would know the circumstances, like if it was because of a freak accident or something. But then that raises the question of whether I would actually be able to prevent it with this knowledge or if my effort in preventing it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy...or a Final Destination situation

Def know. I'd rather plan accordingly! and it would erase the come-and-go fear of it for me...

Seems like it would be one less thing to worry about.

Nope. Death is my biggest fear and I feel like if I were to know the date of my death, it’d only be more on my mind. That’s be too draining. It’d probably even make me do less with my life, especially if the date were to come up here soon. I’d like to say I’d make the most out of it, but I already have that mindset with life and try and not take it for granted.

I already know.
I will be dying 10 years from now in the arms of 1987 Leah Thompson... after a world record 56 hour sex romp.

My first instinct is to say no, but if I knew that there was a way to find out, the curiosity would probably drive me insane.

No. When it happens it happens.
It's like in school when I knew there would be an in-class-test and you were nervous about it. It's much more relaxing not to have to look forward to a rather inconvenient incident.

No way.Not unless I knew the circumstances of my death too, plane crash, heart attack etc.Otherwise I'd drive myself crazy thinking about exactly how I was going to die.

My thinking is I’d rather know if I’m going to have a heart attack at 50 so I can appropriately plane to take care of my family (although I’m not sure if I’d still be able to take out a large life insurance policy?).

Yes, absolutely. It would be useful not only to get my affairs in order, but also to know what I can or should focus for the rest of my life (not much of a point save too much money if i'll die next year).

Yeah. I know I'm going to die eventually so it's not like I'll suddenly be freaked out about the concept of dying. I think it'd be good to know.

We spend so much time planning for the future even though it might not come. Obviously there's not much to do about that in real life, but if you knew you would die young you'd live your life completely different and just focus on enjoying it while you were here.

On the other hand, if you're going to live until 100, better begin planning your retirement.

Great news - and this percentage can only go up yanno? “We use the technology behind ChatGPT (something called transformer models) to analyze human lives by representing each person as the sequence of events that happens in their life,” Sune Lehmann, lead author of the December 2023 study “Using sequence of life-events to predict human lives,” told The Post.
In the report, the professor of network and complex systems from the Technical University of Denmark, and co-authors introduce an algorithm known as “life2vec,” which uses select details of an individual’s life — including income, profession, residence and health history — to determine life expectancy with 78% correctness.nypost.com/2023/12/20/tech/ai-death-calculator-predicts-when-youll-die-its-extremely-accurate/
