All I can think of here is all the actors in a similar age range I'd put ahead of Phoenix and Leo who are seemingly ubiquitously cited as the best of their generations these days. I don't dislike either of them but there are people who are better. Weisz>Winslet is a good one. Not 100% sure I agree but they are very close despite Winslet probably being viewed as the better actress by most people. Weisz's best performances are better but Winslet has had better opportunities and as such has a deeper filmography. Chris Pine > Chris Evans Chris Pine > Chris Pratt Chris Pine > Chris Hemsworth Ralph Fiennes < Gary Oldman Don't think either of these are that controversial.

I've thought Weisz > Winslet for a pretty long time. Winslet came out first and younger so really cornered the market on English Rose actresses for their generation so got more opportunities and Oscar nods etc ,(plus the stardom that came with Titanic), but it's become really clear over the years that Weisz can do everything Winslet does to a similar level or better. Plus she is a much more accomplished stage actor than Winslet. Weisz also seems to be much more sincere and likable in real life than Winslet, who comes off as an opportunist that would sell even friends out if she no longer had any use for them.

This is basically a perfect description of Johnny Depp, not Gary Oldman. Oldman is on the same level as the over-praised Daniel Day-Lewis. Too bad Oldman has a lot of bad roles and movies in his filmography. If he had only like 15 movies in his whole career, he would be considered DDL level. One have had many mistakes and lows, while the other was careful not to show his limitations and weaknesses.
These are your opinions...what's the point of stating them as if they're factual? You told your opinion and I told mine disagreeing with yours adding more thoughts. What's your problem??

That was some of the best acting I've ever seen in a show or mini series by an actress. She was that great. Can't wait to see Kate the Great Winslet in Avatar 2! According to James Cameron she can hold her breathe for a long fucking time lol here she is filming a scene under water

It is pretty amazing the expression that can still come out of MsMovieStar 's face despite all that's been done to it over the years. Kristen Stewart should take notes.

Kobayashi's 60's >>>> Coppola's 70's
I just watched Samurai Rebellion, and yeah, I'm officially declaring this.

Return to Oz is better than The Wizard of Oz
Emma Stone is better in Easy A than in all her nominated roles.
Marcia Gay Harden is better in The Mist than Piper Laurie is in Carrie.

Emma Stone is better in Easy A than in all her nominated roles. I definitely prefer it to Birdman! I still think her absolute best is Battle of the Sexes. A really underrated film, too.

I love her in The Favourite and really like her a lot in La La Land, but I do think a lot of her best stuff is not nominated.
