Moore is less consistent and has done a lot more crap, but I think she's stretched herself more as a performer and has reached greater emotional heights. Foster's techniques can be commanding but they also lack grace.

Both have given some truly staggering performances, and both are guilty of some really, really bad ones as well. I do think Foster's more consistent, though.

Both have a couple duds to their name, but are generally fantastic and consistent actresses. I've seen much more from Moore, but Foster wins out based on her performance in Lambs alone, which probably lands in my all-time top 5 from any actor.

Foster has higher highs, but her last great performance is decades old.

Moore is more versatile and is challenging herself more often so her. Foster will always the best Clarice Starling, though.

Really really tough!! I like them both. But I think Moore is more versatile and more consistent so it's her.

I will never udnerstand the fascination for Jodie Foster and why she's considered one of the best, outside of a couple of things, to me she has the charisma of a piece of wood. Moore is far more interesting, daring, wild, can go off the rails if you want but at least she's giving something.
