Let's go back and try to determine which films would have filled out the field of 10 Best Picture nominees. For years with 9 nominees, you can only select 1 option. For years with 5, you will be able to select 5 options. Some years will be more obvious than others and some will have more options. This isn't based on personal preferences. These are realistic options based on acclaim, precursor support and other Oscar nominations.
This year feels more obvious than most.
August: Osage County - 2 Oscar noms, SAG Blue Jasmine - 3 Oscar noms, PGA, 3 BAFTA noms
The Butler - SAG The Great Beauty - 1 Oscar nom Inside Llewyn Davis - 2 Oscar noms, 3 BAFTA noms
Saving Mr. Banks - 1 Oscar nom, 5 BAFTA noms
Previous results2019 - Knives Out (22 votes). 2018 - If Beale Street Could Talk (18 votes) and Cold War (14 votes) 2017 - I, Tonya (20 votes) 2016 - Jackie (15 votes) 2015 - Carol (25 votes) and Inside Out (14 votes) 2014 - Foxcatcher (22 votes) and Wild (12 votes)

it'd have to be Blue Jasmine. Two acting nods (one an obvious frontrunner) and a screenplay nod, plus the PGA. Surprised it wasn't nominated to begin with.

Blue Jasmine is the logical pick.
But I could eventually imagine that Inside Llewyn Davis sneaked in with passionate voters.
