Loving that cast list, but the name Ryan Murphy in association with a TV show always fills me with hope and dread in equal measure.
Still, it gets bonus points for no Darren Criss.

Lemme guess, another campfest where the characters act like middle schoolers towards one another?

Great cast, but stupid concept.

How does this work exactly I'm serious - does Murphy have to negotiate with Ken Kesey's estate or whoever had the film rights to do this? I'm just asking because there are 20 years missing in The Godfather Part 3's storyline (1959-1979) and I'm already cringing at Ryan Murphy's "Michael Corleone - The Lost Years" series starring Oscar Isaac naturally......

You're giving him way too much credit. He'd cast Sarah Paulson as Michael and Jessica Lange as Kay.

I was not onboard for the concept and I can’t claim the trailer has done anything to pique my interest. The tone certainly feels like something from a Ryan Murphy show but it feels incredibly off as a prequel to One flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

What in the goddamn hell is this. Who the heck watches or reads "Cuckoo's Nest" and thinks that a Freddy Krueger-like origin story is what ought to be done to it?

I wasn't convinced by the trailer.

Yeah, let's literally villainize and sensationlize a character that's already been wrongly villainized and sensationalized amongst the masses.
Also, anyone else sick of Sarah Paulson yet?

This looks like a fucking dumpster fire if that dumpster was filled with horse shit and dog vomit.
But I'm sure it'll be 90% on RT and score Paulson another emmy.

Oh honeys, it's almost here! I'm so excited! It's Sarah Paulson's show but Judy Davis is in this! Ryan Murphy: “I feel like Nurse Ratched is sort of a shorthand for barbarism. She became almost like a catchphrase for any sort of institutional abuse of power. What was interesting was trying to create an emotional character from a reputation that’s very cold…trying to figure out every little detail about her childhood, her relationships, her sexuality. Because when people think of Ratched, they think of her as shutoff and cruel and uncaring.” Judy Davis!

La reine Glenn's daughter, Annie Starke, is in this! - she is playing one of Ratched's patients. I liked her a lot in The Wife.

Oh honeys, am I the only one watching this?
I enjoyed the first episode but Murphy certainly went overboard with the sets - so glossy & lavish and over saturated with color.
Sarah Paulson is like a twisted Joan Crawford, Judy Davis is excellent as always and someone should ask Vincent d Onofrio to do an Orson Welles biopic.

Sharon Stone has just come on the scene doing her best Norma Desmond impersonation (monkey, cigarette holder, etc)...
