I love an actor who can deliver a great drunk scene without pushing it too much - Well I'm sure this was no stretch for Scott but watching him spew Paddy all over the screen is some brilliant shit. "We cure nothing! We heal Nothing!" Amen brother.

From 1959-71 starting at Anatomy of a Murder and ending with The Hospital - Scott probably had the greatest run of that length of time for any American actor on film (and TV and theater too)........and just to talk about him for a second because we don't do this enough: He finished 20th in our GOAT poll - and I'd say for American actors he's a lot closer to 10th than he is 20th - and even though that was only 12 years in his great run - 12 years isn't something to ignore - we give Russell Crowe and Ed Norton credit for less. I often say "where do actors rank?" or who is a "better" actor - well think of this: The "#11-20" group of Americans for me would include names like: Hanks, Stewart, Bridges, Washington, Scott, Dafoe, DiCaprio, Duvall, Clift etc. is insanely competitive and Scott in a lot of ways tops them all for those 12 years and even for his career he had an astonishing 18 Triple Crown nominations tops any American film star, ever (GOAT Americans Pacino and Lemmon are at just 15)..........in TV/Film/Theater he was an absolute beast.
