Greatest Robert DeNiro performance after his 50s?
Thus we exclude his unparalleled prime in the 70s,80s,and first half of the 90s (Awakenings, Goodfellas, and Cape Fear).
Vote in the poll and then leave a comment.

Heat -....but I would argue he's better and more completely rounded in Everybody's Fine (2009) than anything else on this list except Heat and The Irishman.......Everybody's Fine is one of his underrated ones.
It's no coincidence that Heat and The Irishman he was working in ambitious pieces by directors who understood his iconography and how to incorporate him into their vision. A lot of these movies are just movies that he's in.......but those 2 are movies that he HAD to be in.

You should have put "Other" as an answer as well since he was also great in "Everybody's Fine", "The Intern", "Wizard of Lies", "The Score", "Flawless", "Men of Honor" and more.
As for my pick, I'm going to say "The Irishman" but "Heat" is right behind.

The last hour of The Irishman is his best acting since the 80s, IM0.

The Irishman Heat Casino
He hasn't given many truly great performances since his 50s but The Irishman is by far the best of them.

Unfortunately, these films were underseen.

Not a fan of Heat, but DeNiro was great in it. It's easily his best post-50's performance.

Heat.
For the most part, he was as listless and dull as he's been for the last few decades in The Irishman. I think his performance actually hurt that movie in some ways. He had some decent moments towards the end, but it wasn't enough. And the de-aging CGI couldn't hide that he moved like an old man when he was supposed to be younger. The scene where he kicks the guy on the pavement is one of the worst of his career.
He's one of those guys people are willing to be great again since he is such a legend for his prime work, but if anyone else gave that Irishman turn, it'd be written off as "meh" or "servicable". That is not the performance to remind all these young kids how great Robert DeNiro once was. You need to go back as far as Heat and Casino for that.

Casino and The Irishman. Threw a vote to Joker too where he gave a very good supporting performance.

Everybody's Fine is better than all but one, maybe two of these.

pupdurcs is right. There was a visible difference between DeNiro pre-and-after 1995. Maybe the tides were changing, since it wasn't long before all the 70s guys were declining.
Hoffman already washed up, Hackman and Nicholson got only a couple of more good stuff in, Pacino lasted a bit longer but still, not even he can bring the 70s and 90s back into the late 00s or 10s.
But......DeNiro from 1973-1980. And then 1991-1995......holy shittttt, man. Some of my all-time favorite stuff.

I’ll go with Heat as well..but shout out to him in Copland as well..who else gets to call Sylvester Stallone a deaf fuck and tell him he blew it while eating a sandwich. I think 97 was his last great year with this and Jackie Brown. Not a fan of him in The Irishman.
