"Alejandro" by Lady Gaga An epic, hypersexual, gaudy ode to leather-clad homoeroticism. It's one of the most "out there" videos Gaga has ever produced, combining irreverent religious imagery with S&M-themed militant sexuality, and it's worth every second of the nearly nine-minute running time.

Will definitely have to check out a lot of these, I love music videos when they're not just people sitting around dancing or singing (unless of course the dance choreography is worthwhile, i.e. Michael Jackson's videos). They're like awesome little short films when done right. Still need to check out Beyonce's and Frank Ocean's album videos, but thanks for the list.
I'm surprised by the lack of Kanye West - at least for his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. I think that's one of the greatest music videos ever.

They're like awesome little short films when done right. Exactly. I love music videos that are unique and striking, that's why I love Gaga so much. There's only a couple videos in there that are straight-up performance videos. They really have to have strong editing, visually arresting cinematography, and good choreography for me to get engaged. HAIM's video for "If I Could Change Your Mind" only made the list because I love its effortlessly cool retro 80s feel. I'm surprised by the lack of Kanye West - at least for his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. I think that's one of the greatest music videos ever. Which ones are your favorites? I saw a few of his videos a couple years ago but none of the ones from MBDTF stood out to me, but maybe I need to see them again. "No Church in the Wild" is the only one from him that I really loved, for the political undertones and gorgeous cinematography.
