And more importantly, how would you rank them/thoughts on them? (I say not including The Return, but include it if you like, or put it as it's own thing. Your call) And please god no arguments over this being in the wrong poll forum

The Dekalog is one of the greatest works of Art ever made - it's The Godfather 1 & 2 or Jean De Florette/Manon of the Spring level of brilliance - a jaw-dropping and epic work of Art that makes anything compared to it seem small ...........or worse.

Well, outside of Seasons 1/2 of Twin Peaks, which is a show, I see them all as similar to miniseries (when talking about what they "classify" as), which I don't exclude when talking about favorite films (but I also don't separate "best film" from "best foreign film", so what do I know). The Return is especially filmic though - it was written like a film, Lynch calls it a film, and it self-identifies as a film in the credits. It's weird that it gets singled out so much as a "hey, that's not a movie!" thing by people when I've literally never seen anyone contest that Out 1 is a film.
Anyway, it's also harder to say in regards to Season 1/2 of Twin Peaks as Lynch only actually directed less than a fourth of it. Comparing The Return here feels more fair.
Who did it best? Well, I haven't seen Berlin Alexanderplatz yet, but...these days Twin Peaks/The Return is sort of in an eternal three way tie for being my #1 of all time right next to Love Exposure and End of Evangelion. I can't praise it highly enough, it's one of the most brilliantly structured and nuanced, heavily emotional works of art I've ever experienced. I'm so happy The Return has ended up as highly acclaimed as it has, it really, really deserves it.

You're right that The Return is more similar to these other two than the original show in terms of how it's made and what not, I put the original in there because of era. They all came out within a decade-ish of each other. It was a pretty epic time in relatively dark days for television. Could throw Das Boot in there also, though Wolfgang was not on the tier of these three guys as a filmmaker beforehand.

Twin Peaks is TV and the original series (not The Return) is among the best things ever on TV. Dekalog always felt to me like a bunch of shorter movies. It's wonderful, but I don't consider it TV; it's a collection of short films, like New York Stories.
