I think both are trash but entertaining, high-gloss trash nonetheless.

Black Swan is far better and even if people don't think so, at least is coherent. The Neon Demon is by the end at least Fashionista-Satan porn or something - very rarely do you see a movie start that focused and just lose its sh it all over the place by the end. The Neon Demon is actually a lot closer to mother! to me anyway...

Neon Demon is a bad movie.
Black Swan is a much better one.

I didn't love Neon Demon or anything, but at least it was a pretty tasty slice of neo-giallo trash and I get the sense that Refn is more self-aware than Araonofsky which is key to being able to enjoy films like this. I can't take Black Swan seriously at all and I don't think it works without that.

Neon Demon is kind of goofy but still way better than Black Swan, which is actually one of my more least favorite hugely popular films of the last decade

It's Black Swan. By every conceivable metric.

I love both, but I'll pick Black Swan today. The Neon Demon is more intriguing.

Black Swan for me. Any film that manages to have Mila Kunis go down on Portman is alright in my book. On a side note, I keep forgetting that Black Swan was such a smash hit at the box office. It made well over $300 million worldwide on like a $10 million budget. That is flat out insane.
