I’m between Pulp Fiction and maybe Quiz Show.
Quiz Show might have had a decent shot at being a good under the radar choice that year if it had done better Box Office wise. It still managed to win the NYFCC that year, so who knows right?
Thanks in advance for any comments or opinions !!!

Pulp Fiction was the critical behemoth, a big box office hit, the Original Screenplay winner, and served as a unique counterpart to Forrest Gump in every way. It feels clear to me it was the #2 that year, though nothing was ever going to stop Gump from winning.

Pulp Fiction, easily. Not only it was a big box office hit, but it also managed to secure nominations in a lot of other major categories as well, especially acting. The other films had no chance.

Pulp.
Shawshank Redemption would also be a deserved winner imo.

Definitely Pulp Fiction because it appealed to a completely different demographic. Gump was obviously going to dominate the "establishment" vote so no chance for Quiz Show or Shawshank.
