No disrespect to those who really are. Think it through, if you had the choice, would you rather not hear or not see?

Neither ! Yes, this is definitely the best answer right here. First, I went with deaf because I think it would be harder, at least at first, to lose your sense of sight and adapt to that. Then I remembered all the music I would miss though, so I had to pick blindness instead.

Deaf without a doubt. And there's very few things I love more than music.

I work with children with visual impairments. I would not wish to be either. I think you can possibly appreciate art more without sight, at least from my experience of their experience. But you're more likely to be more dependant on others when blind than deaf.
This said, I was told at a training day that very few people are completely blind, unless they don't have eyes. Although a great number of visual impairments are I think worse than having no vision at all (for example some people have conditions where the whole world is shaking violently in their vision incessantly - can you imagine how that must be? Or conditions where they can only see at the very edges of their vision. There are very many unusual visual impairments and some of them sound a great deal more difficult to live with than merely not being able to see.)
When you know people who are blind, it is a pretty tasteless question though, because people are blind and people are deaf and you'd wish neither on anyone, but also their lives are worth just as much as anyone's. And there are certainly areas where some people can access things because of such conditions that they otherwise not have been able to.
If someone takes off my glasses I can see about 3 inches in front of my face (I'm -8.00 - no idea what that means). In the days before glasses, I guess I would have been blind.

I tried being blind for a bit and didn't care for it, so I guess I'd give deaf a whirl.

Deaf. So I can't stop hearing f-cking disturbing noises, but lost both senses suck as hell, why are you asking this stupid question? Why are you answering this stupid question?

Deaf, but it'd be a maddening silence. Blind and you can't do anything without a lot of assistance, bumbling around, unaware of what's around you. I'd rather avoid that altogether.

I would definitely rather be deaf. Music would be a great loss, but that would be the only true great loss, if you ask me. I'm fascinated with sign language, so that would be a cool way to communicate. I like watching films with subtitles anyway. Being blind would be more difficult for me because my paranoid ass likes to be able to see everything that's going on around me. I feel like I'm going blind now with the way my eyes tire out so easily these days.

I think deaf for sure. I love the visual, so I think I would miss seeing things way too much. I reckon as terrible as being deaf would be, I could cope better with it.
