What he did is horrendous and he absolutely deserves to spend a very long time in jail. But trying a 14 year old as an adult?.No.I amazed that's even legal tbh. Juveniles should be charged as adults only if the crime committed is heinous which is definitely the case with the Tessa Majors affair. I believe that at 14 you're old enough to understand that killing a defensless girl in cold blood is evil . If it were my child , I'd definitely want the little monster who robbed her from her life to be tried as an adult. However if their crime is something" little" sort of speak (like shoplifting) and they don't have a criminal background, then no I don't think they should be tried as adults.

Well........here we go ....first sentencing for the "juvenile" in the case .....reading this part "Tessa who would have turned 19 on May 11th" - was pretty much a punch in the gut.......... A 14-year-old boy involved in the stabbing death of New York City college student Tessa Majors was sentenced Monday to a minimum of six months in a limited secure facility. The boy, who was 13 at the time of Majors' killing in December, previously admitted to robbery in the first degree. CBS New York reported the teen appeared relaxed and somewhat bored during Monday's sentencing, which was held over video conference inside the court. www.cbsnews.com/news/tessa-majors-news-14-year-old-boy-sentenced-barnard-college-new-york-city/ The other two teens, both 14, were taken into custody in February and are being charged as adults. Their cases are pending.

I've gotta be honest,I have some issues with two 14yr olds being charged as adults, regardless of their crimes. Not that they don't deserve to be severely punished, they do,but as juveniles, which they are.

Six months? Yeah, that sounds about right in our current state...

Yeah I think that's why at least one of those kids had to be tried (and it's 2 of them) as an adult because she's not coming back and her life was snuffed out at 18 .....I mean you'd have 3 sentences of 6-12 months if they were all charged as juveniles like he was.....it's just is too unspeakably horrific for that to make sense.
