Oh honeys, every actress in Hollywood has coveted working with Pedro... but I think he's made a good choice (I wasn't available as I've just signed for an off Broadway show... if anyone is in Arkansas, please come and see me).
Tilda seems to be the actress most international auteurs are clamouring to work with (suck it up, Nicole). She's also in Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch, one of the most anticipated movies of the year!
Incidentally, the legendary Anna Magnani performed Cocteau's The Human Voice in 1948 as part of a two part film showcase L'Amore directed by Rossellini. It is a powerful emotional piece performed on a telephone. Almodovar featured it, with Carmen Maura (playing a transexual) performing it as a stage piece in Law of Desire (1987).

This pairing makes sense and now that I think of it, strange it never happened.
I see people making better use of her talents than Bong or Guadagagino, and Pedro or Sofia are probably the best 2 people to do it. Needs to work with Coppola after this.
I see her excelling in something like 8 Women or Knives Out also.

Almodovar is always so hit-and-miss with me, but Swinton seems like the optimal muse for him.

I’ve very excited to watch this but also very bummed it’s only a short film.

Oh honeys, Pedro's movies always have such gorgeous music.
I'm intrigued by the crinoline that Tilda is wearing... Maybe she's an actress in a film studio and is going to deliver the monologue as an off-screen aside on a mobile?
Magnani delivered it on a telephone on a bed, in black lingerie, looking raw & emotional.
Since it's a short, he should consider making Cocteau's Le bel indifférent as a companion piece.

From what I've read this is a "free" adaptation of Cocteau's original play ( apparently they felt the motivations needed an adjustment for a modern woman ). They had to come up with something considering how many times this has been brought to the screen, just in the last few years: Rosamud Pike, Elsa Zylberstein and Sophia Loren ( directed by her son, lovely ) ...
