Should be winning his second Oscar tonight. Either way, The Irishman (if it is his last film) is a hell of a swan song. One of the best.

Happy Birthday! One day we'll be able to really look at his work I think more than we can right now where he is so linked to The Irishman but he's just fascinating to discuss. He is so linked to 1 director and yet he pulled off comedy, has a decent amount of iconic roles, 3 nods and a win and a lot of lost years. I did a poll before The Irishman asking him or Keitel and Keitel I think won easily - now I'm not so sure the board would feel the same way at all. In fact, I think if we had our GOAT poll he may now make the top 50 maybe which would have been unthinkable before. Either way The Irishman is one of the great big screen farewell roles ever for him - right up there with those of DDL, John Wayne, Paul Muni etc.

Happy birthday, Pesch!!! In my mind, a very underappreciated actor of his era. He had a great swan song with the Irishman, may he win an Oscar tonight.

It's his birthday? He's definitely not showing up then.
