He was nearly unrecognizable and a great villain. Much better than his ham antics in Dick Tracy for sure.
Refrain yourself from making negative comments about the Pac

It's the role that kept him relevant (sort of) in movies at one of his absolute low points (2005-2009) and of course being the wackadoodle he is, he doesn't like it - I think he thought his part would be bigger.
He's a memorable villain and when he gets screwed at the end you almost feel for him even, the Godfather quotes are very funny and he has wonderful scenes with Pitt, Clooney and Barkin. This is the start of that thing where he was a bit older (67) and directors then started creating parts for him just to work with him - this time Soderbergh, later it would be David Gordon Greene and David Mamet.

It's a fun performance in a fun film. Sadly, it's nowhere near the levels of 11 and 12, but if you need two hours of brain shut down, this is a good way to do so.

The film was a pleasure to watch, much better than O12 and much worse than O11. Al made a solid villain without turning his character into a caricature, as he did in Dick Tracy (although I also liked that performance). His scenes with Clooney, especially the last one, were great. It's the role that kept him relevant (sort of) in movies at one of his absolute low points (2005-2009) and of course being the wackadoodle he is, he doesn't like it - I think he thought his part would be bigger. That true? Never heard anything about it... This is the start of that thing where he was a bit older (67) and directors then started creating parts for him just to work with him - this time Soderbergh, later it would be David Gordon Greene and David Mamet. And Tarantino, of course!

It was nice to see him and Garcia in a film again.

Yeah, it has been a long while since I saw Ocean’s Thirteen. From what I remembered he was not that intimidating as Andy Garcia was in Ocean’s Eleven. I really was hoping he would have been the standout for the film to which he was not. I do remember Bob Einstein’s screen time, loved his presence as one of the agents. Again, I need to re-watch it.

Worth it just for that line - "I slice - like a goddamn hammer." I always quote that line, it makes no sense, I love it. Pacino's alright... wouldn't make my Top 40 of his, but I do like that great last scene (" You think you hit me") where he's just listing his accolades, his ego automated, stunned, sapped. The spray tan is a great character touch too. As for the movies, I rank them in their order - O11 and O13 have an entertaining, gliding pace to them, acted with a lot of charm. 12 is one of the goofiest big budget experiments, almost like an A-List improv class. I enjoy 'em all.
