Juliet, Naked; The Meddler; a tiny role in The Place Beyond the Pines? What's going on here? She was going toe-to-toe with Glenn Close on Damages, and that's resulted in zero serious offers since? She does more random comedies than Will Ferrell!

She is also rather good in Sunshine and Bridesmaid. Judging from the trailer for Irresistible (and the last billing she got), looks like she has a decent dramatic/ comedy role coming up.

She got more recognition for being successful in comedies and that's probably what she started getting offered more and doing more.
She did play Gloria Steinem in 9 episodes of Mrs America opposite Cate Blanchett only a few years ago however, so it's not as if she isn't still getting major dramatic opportunities.
You know who also played Gloria Steinem not too long ago....this board's current crush, Julianne Moore. So it was s big dramatic role for Byrne to get. She is still in the mix.

I always assumed it was she who lost interest in going that route and decided to pivot (smartly) into being the hot girl in comedy.
