1. Uncut Gems 2. Punch-Drunk Love 3. The Meyerowitz Stories 4. Funny People 5. Happy Gilmore(had to put one dumb comedy on here and uses his best strength which is his rage that would manifest in better movies like Punch-Drunk Love and Uncut Gems)

Not yet seen Uncut Gems, when I do I'll probably edit my post.
Until then, he was very very good in The Meyerowitz Stories, Reign Over Me and Funny People. Happy Gilmore also has a place in my (up to now) top-4.

bumping bc he's been campaigning more than he ever has? and in a recent interview he sort of implies his next few films are with the Safdies, Baumbach, and Todd Field. / 1. Punch Drunk Love 2. Uncut Gems 3. The Meyerowitz Stories 4. The Wedding Singer 5. Hustle #4 is also a trapdoor for all of his goofy-fun comedies..... and there's underrated perfs in there, like That's My Boy where he's ridiculously funny, and straighter stuff - he has nice chemistry with Jennifer Aniston in Just Go With It and Murder Mystery. Also gets some kinda cred for spooning with Pacino and Jack Nicholson. I think he's been looking up since 2017... he's been maximizing his whole Netflix deal lately with serious and heartfelt stuff (Hustle - even if it's formulaic, hey it works, and it's better than Bullock/Blind Side) and weird stuff coming up like Spaceman (director of Chernobyl...).

I love this new auteur phase of Sandler, where people are actively courting him for off-the-wall projects. Would not be surprised to see Claire Denis reach out at this rate.

Sandler does a mean DDL Chew. Also would be heavenly if Sands the man to get DDL outta retirement. Are they collaborating? "Maybe, maybe."

Now for the Safdies to direct My Dinner with Daniel, where it's just two hours of Daniel Day-Lewis eating while staring at Adam Sandler.
