Pryce, though I haven't seen his film and doubt that I'll force myself to ever watch it at this point, dude's a legend and it's great to finally see him get his due recognition.

honestly I'm happy for all of them! In terms of personal preference, I think Johansson gave a pretty undeniable double-header in 2019 and that's coming from someone who hated Jojo Rabbit otherwise. She nailed both performances and totally deserved both nods. Otherwise, it's nice seeing Pryce here. I didn't care for the performance but it's great seeing such a legendary British actor finally getting his due. Feel the exact same about Banderas whose film I have yet to see. Very exciting for Pugh and Erivo too nabbing their first Oscar nods pretty early in their acting careers. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of them.

Pugh. Personally I found her performance to be just a little overrated in Midsommar (might change on a rewatch) but she absolutely blew me away in Little Women. Now I need to check out Lady Macbeth.

Banderas and Pryce. I Liked Erivo on Widows but I need to see more of her. Idk Pugh but Scarjo is a genuine awful actress

Didn't realize Pryce had never been nominated prior to this. What the hell? Definitely him.

Scarlett She should have been nominated (and won) 16 years ago already, so yeah, it really was about time.
Also happy for Banderas, because I always felt he was way underrated as an actor, especially by the main public, who doesn't know his spanish work.
Plus: Johansson and Banderas gave terrific performances this year and totally deserve this noms.

Pryce and Banderas because of how long they've been around, Pugh because she's my fave.

1. Scarjo - Finally being recognized by the academy after being snubbed so many times. And being doubly nominated! 2. Banderas - I think it's the best male performance of 2019. 3. Pryce - His performance isn't even great, but he deserves recognition for his career.

Do! Lady Macbeth is an incredible film. I saw it at LFF a few years ago & was blown away. It is slightly crazy in an amazing way to think she's now Oscar nominated. The only film I've seen with any of the first time nominees in is Jojo Rabbit which I wasn't a fan of & nor was I fo SJ, but in theoretical terms I'm happy for Antonio and I hope I'll get to see Pain & Glory to (hopefully) be even happier about that.

Pryce / Banderas for career longevity and Scarjo because she’s been a constant presence since I became a movie fan.
