Very good for Jumanji: The Next Level. I'd be surprised if it went below 45m.

Great start. It's going to have legs too, what with Christmas coming up.It may not match the BO of the last one, but I still think it's going to do some serious business.

I wonder how well this one will do in comparison? Im sure less but not sure how much less. I'm sure it will do well, but I don't know if it will have massive legs like the 2017 version after seeing it. However, ooking through Reddit last night after I saw it, I saw that most of the comments said it was better than the first film, which I didn't think at all, so that surprised me. Of course, there weren't a lot of comments yet, so maybe that will change. It's fun like Jumanji:Welcome to the Jungle, but just a rehash of it but doesn't quite reach the same heights that one did. So I definitely enjoyed the 2017 version better partly because I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to update the concept and still honor the original, and partly because it's really funny imo.

I'm sure people will enjoy it as much as Jungle, but I'd be surprised if it has the same legs as that film. Hearing that it's basically a rehash of Jungle, means there will probably be diminishing returns from the audiences. Also it's being released before The Rise of Skywalker, as opposed to Welcome to The Jungle which was released after The Last Jedi, so that might also hurt it.

I mean I know it will reach a billion, but I am sort of worried. On one hand, the second film in a SW trilogy always does the worst, and then the third one bounces back. On the other hand, there's a lot of negativity in SW fandom; although, The Mandalorian did help somewhat, but I also see a lot of comments at various places like "I'll support The Mandalorian, but I won't see TROS because The Mandalorian is real Star Wars." Still as much as I hate the idea, JJ Abrams knows how to do fan service, and TROS will probably be like ROTJ like TFA was like ANH, so the general public might like it more than they did TLJ.

I'm cautious when it comes to TROS's performance. On the other hand I expect it to be better received overall then the TLJ because Abrams knows how to appeal to general moviegoers, but at the same time I'm a bit worried that it might open less with TLJ because people are seemingly a bit burnt on Star Wars. I'm curious to see the reviews too. Hopefully Palpatine's appearance comes off less like "fanboyism", and is more integral to the overall plot.

Good for Jumanji 3. It overdid my expectations. Ouch at Richard Jewell though, for an Eastwood directed film, that's his lowest since Blood Work. www.the-numbers.com/daily-box-office-chart1 N Jumanji: The Next Level Sony Pictures $19,400,000 4,227 $4,590 $19,400,000 1 2 (1) Frozen II Walt Disney $4,411,000 +151% -44% 4,078 $1,082 $351,771,072 22 3 (2) Knives Out Lionsgate $2,650,000 +111% -36% 3,413 $776 $72,327,248 17 4 N Black Christmas Universal $1,810,000 2,625 $690 $1,810,000 1 5 N Richard Jewell Warner Bros. $1,550,000 2,502 $620 $1,550,000 1 6 (4) Ford v. I was an idiot. The Mule opened to $17.5m and that had Eastwood himself in the lead role.

Quite expected for Jumanji: Next Level this opening week with its major competition at bay.
Meanwhile I'm also a bit cautious about TROS too.

I was hoping that they weren't true, but they keep lining up with more stuff that's coming out. I know most hate it here, but I loved TLJ, but I'm not excited at all for TROS between the leaks and some of the cast interviews from the past couple of weeks.

I’m also trying to be more cautious around rumors and word-of-mouth of movies closer to their release dates over social media. The Last Jedi had a leaked script that didn’t align so much with the final product. So I may take whatever recent rumor that has been going for TROS with a grain of salt. It won't flop, but I do feel that it probably wouldn't perform as well as the first two Star Wars sequels for various reasons--be it a general burnout from Star Wars or the salty reception of TLJ for some. I still kinda liked TLJ too. But who knows? *shrug*

Queen and Slim is quite impressive when you consider how many screens it got compared to CA and Doctor Sleep. By the way, did you guys see story about how Globe members didn't show up for the scheduled screening s?

It's being released over the Holiday season, and reception seems very positive. Plus there's a lack of family options outside of Star Wars. I'd say it's very likely.
