This also really needs to be emphasized. In a "Shallow"-less year, this might be seen as Erivo's consolation award similar to Gaga's.

I think she can pull it off too. Her score is one of the most universally liked aspects of the movie and it is very prominent in it, often working in unison with Phoenix's performance. She can definitely go all the way.

I really need Thomas Newman to friggin' top himself with "1917"...Enough of this 'always the bridesmaid' bullshit. Although I'm not sure whether the film itself lends itself to a winning score with its real-time gimmick...
