Just out of curiosity, how is Gucci as a brand seen in Italy? I can't imagine that the Italian haute bourgeoisie wouldn't rather wear Ferragamo? cherry68 - curious for your insight as well. There's classic styled Gucci, that's still appreciated by upper classes, and modern Gucci, only for (wealthy) young people, more aggressive (and frankly I don't like it).Anyway, there are so many couturiers to choose from... You can't make mistakes with Armani or Valentino, Missoni... I bought Alberta Ferretti in the early 90s, when it was still affordable for me, even if nowadays I'm attracted by Etro... Yes, it's pretty much the same in America - like, the classic horsebit loafers or the bamboo top handle bags are still popular with the upper class. The rest... Not as much. I'm wondering how this movie will affect Gucci's stock, honestly. No doubt the film will be a blockbuster. This story is not well-known in the US at all... yet.

What I really, really liked about this trailer is how it makes fun of this family and their antics while at the same time showing how objectively classy they were, with those dresses and outfits and houses and interiors. It has the tone of a trashy fun soap opera immersed in mayhem and murder. I had doubts over the accents when I read about it but it had to be done this way. Show their glamour and their madness, make them disgustingly enticing.
I'm so mad this wasn't ready for Venice lol

I wonder if the movie will be faithful to the story. I mean, Patrizia Reggiani served a long prison sentence, I hope she won't be portrayed as a mentally ill woman.

Oh, and are we feeling Leto as our next Oscar/Razzie nominee for the same role?

Oh, and are we feeling Leto as our next Oscar/Razzie nominee for the same role? Definitely. If Glenn Close can be nominated for an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year(Hillbilly Elegy)then Leto certainly can.

Oh, and are we feeling Leto as our next Oscar/Razzie nominee for the same role? Well............I'm not saying Leto couldn't be nominated for an Oscar for this - he could........... but can't say I quite get this boards reaction to him from this trailer - or in general tbh (really if you like Jared Leto but don't "get" Nic Cage ........well I guess I just don't "get" you )......... I mean this is not a sure-fire thing at all for the Oscar............an annoying character played by a guy wearing a fat suit and a bald cap is gonna have trouble cracking that top 5 - BSA is not "light" this year after all........in that trailer he was neither great nor amazing nor "coming for that nod!" at all....... He could be nodded - sure, ok I'll play along but............he was just fncking Jared Leto in a fat suit and a bald cap yanno? He was maybe........fine? Shrug

pacinoyes - Girl, you know that I don't "get" Cage or Leto. LaraQ - They did it to Glenn Close because they thought it would get them lots of press attention - and they were right. I'm thinking this film is going to be the biggest non-franchise hit of the year, so Leto better beware.

Do not compare Cage, who was once a damn great actor, one of the best of his age range to Jared Leto.

Do not compare Cage, who was once a damn great actor, one of the best of his age range to Jared Leto. Do not use the past tense in referring to Cage's greatness.

Flashy trailer, hopefully the color grading is less jarring when playing out, and have we mentioned the late-add cowriter Becky Johnston (Prince of Tides). Also do we all like the woods? Bc why is everyone setting up camp? Maybe I'm not an expert but my idea of campy wasn't at all in that trailer.
To other very important matters: five different costume changes for Pacino, so at least that many scenes, and that's just from what we see in that trailer. I was half-afraid after the single-scene bone QT threw him.

hopefully the color grading is less jarring when playing out It does need some polishing up. Some nice shots in the trailer but a lot were completely spoiled by the over saturation or just plain imbalance.

I guess everyone has their own definition of camp.

The funniest Youtube comment: "Jared Leto looks like George Bluth". The second funniest: "what song is that in the trailer".

Wasn't particularly interested in this movie, but I can see enjoying this. As far as the Leto chatter goes- he almost got nominated for The Little Things

Just like The Last Duel trailer, this looks entertaining as hell. Sir Ridley Scott wants all the smoke. Hopefully both of these films deliver the goods.
