Title is quite explanatory! What's your favourite play? What's the best play you've seen on stage? Do you have a favourite/best performance(s) you've seen on stage? I'll return and share some of mine too! I've only been theatre going regularly since 2015 mind (I say regularly, but the number of plays I had seen ever pre-2015 I could have counted on one hand with fingers to spare), so my play-experience is all very recent, but hey!

I really dug The Producers, Wicked, Hamilton, Book of Mormon, and Chicago.
Best performances, I would say:
Eve Best, Kevin Spacey - Moon For the Misbegotten Laurie Metcalf - Misery whoever played Elphaba - Wicked (forgot the actress's name, but it wasn't Adele Dazeem) Patrick Swayze - Chicago

The Winter's Tale (2013 production directed by Rebecca Taichman)
I'm not good with performances, really. And it would be made up of people like Ted van Griethuysen and Sarah Marshall and Tom Story, local actors. I've seen some bigger names on stage, but they've never really been the standouts (save for Stacy Keach, who stood out terribly as Falstaff in Henry IV parts 1-2).

I've never been floored by a play performance, but the best thing I've seen onstage is Swan Lake by the National Ballet of Canada in 2013.

I have not seen much at all, but I was blown away by Anika Noni Rose in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

I've seen touring versions of Porgy and Bess and 42nd Street that were very good.
