I thought this could be a fun poll. Per Wikipedia’s definition, Twin films are films with the same or very similar plot, produced or released at the same time by two different film studios. Let the matchups begin!

Wyatt Earp is a pretty but boring slog. Tombstone is one of the most badass movies ever made with one of my favorite ensembles in the last thirty years. No contest.

I enjoyed the two of them on about the same level but ultimately I found "Wyatt Earp" to be a bit more compelling.

Tombstone. The running time for Wyatt Earp was far too long & lack of editing. Beautiful photography, but that's it.

Wyatt Earp by far. It has it's lengths, but gives much, much more edge and facets to the characters and is generally build up much better. Also it's gorgeous to look at.

I admire what Wyatt Earp tries to do, I love Costner's adoration for the epic, but it's pretty dry too much of the time, and Tombstone is a total blast. Populist pulpy entertainment it might be, but it's a great piece of populist pulpy entertainment, and I don't think Wyatt Earp is a particularly great epic historical western.
