There's such a strong 5 in Actor that I cannot see anyone from this film getting in to that category unless something doesn't come out in time.

This seems almost guaranteed the SAG Ensemble..... Can anything else compete?
Also I wonder if Sorkin is more likely to direct the Lucille Ball movie after these reactions.

I wouldn't count my chickens just yet, Sorkin has a big ass history of being snubbed by the Academy.

Boseman's gonna be tough to overcome if his film is good. The overwhelming love from the industry and the general audience after his passing was monumental, and the role itself is a strong one. Honestly, I think Lindo and Kaluuya are better off running lead just because I think even if they can't take down Hopkins, it's a feather in their cap for their careers (Lindo finally getting his due as a leading man, Kaluuya notching another Best Actor nod and proving himself a major fixture in his generation).

I swear, every time I watch Steve Jobs I always post about how stupid it is that he was snubbed. At least the Globes got it right that year.

I actually completely forgot about Boseman (maybe because I've seen him tauted as lead multiple times), who I actually had as my supporting win. But I agree with all of this.

Kaluuya won't happen.
Baron Cohen looks to be in a stronger position.

Damn, this whole cast looks fantastic. Cohen kinda looks like the standout but it looks like there’s a lot of potential for multiple acting nods if the film’s a hit.

75 on Metacritic after 26 reviews. Not that this always means anything, but empirical speaking for me usually the chances that I like a movie are higher if it's in the 60s or 70s than in the 30s or 40s.

I feel like the trailer is pushing the "timeliness" angle a bit too hard, and judging from the reviews I have read so far this is what the film as a whole does. I understand why they are doing this, but at the same time I think there are major differences between the trial and present-day events and I wish they were respected.
