A burger is a sandwich and a hot dog is a taco and if you disagree with me, you're wrong and you should feel bad. The arguments for a burger being a sandwich make sense and are understandable. The argument for a hotdog being a taco doesn’t exist in any sense of reality.

Two reasons in my opinion: 1. If you went to a buddy’s house and he asked “do you want a sandwich?” and you said yes so he go to the kitchen a bit and then comes back with a burger, you’d be like “why did you bring me a burger and not a sandwich?” 2. Pretty much every menu universally at any restaurant separates the section for burgers vs sandwiches and wraps. And if they are in the same section is still labeled as ‘Burgers and Sandwiches’ or something. For me, those two reasons are more a result of how burgers have become culturally identified as something distinct from a sandwich and how that distinction has been socially accepted, but doesn’t really get at how exactly they’re different from the perspective of, say, an alien visiting earth wanting to know why they’re different haha. Fundamentally, they still involve two pieces of bread with meat and other stuff in the middle (though meat isn’t a necessary condition for a sandwich). I totally get the reasoning and think it is logical. But at the end of the day me wanting a sandwich and me wanting a burger are 2 separate things.

I think there is quite a bit we agree on, but this and cheese will remain as wide gaps.

Ngl, neither of those look very appealing. Ahem.
Should have seen that coming. I still maintain it is good though, just don't eat fucking spoonfuls of it.

Also, if you go to fast-food places, often times on the menu you have the option of getting the combo or "sandwich only" even under the burger section. I think that's just an American thing tbh.

One thing to take into account regarding the sandwich/taco distinction is whether the bread is creased/bent and leavened. So based on that criteria, I would say a hot dog is still a sandwich. Wraps are closer to tacos imo.

It still blows my mind that there are any people at all that stand up to wipe their ass, let alone the supposed 20% that do this. Like, I can’t even contemplate that this is a thing that people do.

✂ After looking at the casting considerations for Back to the Future - how do we like if it starred John Cusack and Danny DeVito.
✂ Just me or are HBOMax's movies especially clear? I think they render their movies at a higher bitrate....
✂ I thought more TV shows would be dropping this month before the Emmy deadline...?
✂ Eric Roberts' twitter is kinda sweet, seems to genuinely value his fans.

Rami Malek looks like someone was in the process of creating their Sims character and their mom called them down for dinner, accidentally saving the half-made Sim by mistake.

The other day I saw a meme of him that said: "Rami Malek always looks like he's trying to eat Kettle Chips as quietly as possible."

Did you guys hear the podcast where Martin Freeman is slamming Jim Carrey for his method acting in Man On the Moon. I mean it's fine to disagree with someone's method or even criticize their performance but to be THIS vitriol? Why tho?!

Did you guys hear the podcast where Martin Freeman is slamming Jim Carrey for his method acting in Man On the Moon. I mean it's fine to disagree with someone's method or even criticize their performance but to be THIS vitriol? Why tho?! - yeah it was a little much but it gets into many fascinating things - has "The Method" also had a huge downside for actors AND audiences in how we assess acting (pacinoyes take: very much so yes) and sort of an overbearing self-seriousness to it - although let me be clear, the best acting also came from The Method.........it's both the blessing and curse of Brando. Amen. It's the opposite of that famous video where DDL criticizes Laurence Olivier for Olivier's criticizing of The Method in regards to Dustin Hoffman and Marathon Man .............where DDL (God Bless Him) is misreading the whole situation, the intent of Olivier's comments, the humorous aspect of them, the specific context and sounds (to me) like an utter doofus there ..... There's a really good discussion to have in Martin Freeman's comments in that clip ...........but because it's an informal chat he goes a little off the rails, yes
