She's absolutely fabulous in Daisy Jones & The Six
And this dude because he's just the coolest ! Truly enjoyed John Wick 4 by the way.

I posted Laure Calamy in Origin of Evil (2022) a couple days ago in the Laat Great Performance thread and I'm not sure that she's not the best actress at playing desperation atm.......her 2 most recent performances - Origin of Evil and Full Time are tour de forces of frayed endings and nervous energy.......she's amazing - in 2 different ways - in both. This is the kind of movie people miss - it's actually in some US theaters atm - but eveyrybody is trying to see "new stuff" and Oscar stuff........if you care about acting......don't miss it........she's a special actress.......

Are you watching The Curse too? I might go and binge-watch Maniac afterwards like... well, a maniac.

Emma Stones's perf in The Curse is her best performance.......the hardest to read...........it has a lot in common with Blanchett in Tar - as a female "anti-heroine" if not outright villain (which almost never happens for actresses)......... and her 2023 was one of the great single years in acting history Just wanted to throw that in there to stop myself posting about Caitlan Clark and stuff

An Emma Stone tour de force and an amazingly complex shot near the end where Asher and Whitney walk - concealed by fencing and branches and nature and then "disappear" behind the milky glass of a door .........the visual palette / design is at an all-time GOAT level.
Particularly because this is not science fiction or anything genre based where that makes it "easier" - The visual design of The Curse is used not only to comment on the narrative.......but often comments AGAINST it too.....
The saddest episode so far .....
