I like this show, for the most part, but I think Highmore is pretty terrible.

Stopped watching after the first 2 seasons but the first 4 seasons are on Netflix. I guess I'll PVR tonight's episode and catch up.

Highmore actually gets better as his role gets tougher, and Farmiga is consistently amazing. Unless you hated the first 2 seasons, your time won't be wasted catching up.

Pretty great premier. Loved the ending especially (if I overlook the fact that phone calls most likely aren't allowed that late at prison).

Freddie and Vera have acted their guts out throughout this series. Have to give some love to Nestor Carbonell, he was a revelation last season and in the first episode of this season. The sense of impending doom hangs over all the characters, I eat it all up with a spoon and lick the bowl!

so who lives and dies anyone have a guess at all here. Caleb is definitely dead. Romero too (don't see how Norman can go on living with him alive). Dylan/Emma dying doesn't seem possible right now.

I've only seen up to maybe S03E02 but I already know that he killed his mother , as there are such ooooobvious promo pics out. But that just makes me want to catch up even more, and to see how Rihanna (bizarre casting) plays out.

I started it a while ago, got through the first season and started the second, liked it all right enough. Does it get good enough to invest 3.5 more seasons into?

For Vera Farmiga's performance alone, I'd say yes. But season 4 was actually a pretty great season of TV, and 2 & 3 are at the very least really entertaining.

I really liked it. I thought the climatic scene was equal parts intense and emotional. The performances of Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore get a lot of deserved recognition, but I gotta give a shoutout to Max Thieriot's work in the finale. It wasn't surprising that Dylan ended up killing Norman in self-defense , but I felt the scene was more about the emotional inevitability than trying to be shocking so it worked for me. Sad to see the show end, but overall I thought it was five satisfying seasons of television

As someone who loves Psycho, is it worth watching?

If you want to watch Vera Farmiga give one of the most legendary performances in the history of television, then yes it’s worth watching. She made every batshit line delivery something special. Highmore is pretty great too...
The show is entertaining and very trashy... some bad writing at times but it’s easy enough to overlook. Season 4 is legitimately pretty great though.

I really liked the first season. Was loving it till episode 7 but ep 8 and 9 felt very unnecessary. And my god, Farmiga is so so good! She's so sexy, crazy, funny and everything I imagined Norman's mother to be. Highmore is really great at times but kinda annoying in some scenes but that's maybe the character. I mean Norman Bates can get really obnoxious. Olivia Cooke is a sweetheart. Looking forward to the second season. Oh, and Wyn Duffy's in it too.

I've seen a decent amount of TV shows with obnoxious characters but never have I wanted a character dead as much as Norman fucking Bates. Goddamn he's so so so annoying. Idk if that's the character or the performance but I just can't stand him. Stupid little kid. But Vera❤️

It's sooooooo camp, but I seem to recall thinking that it got better as it went along. I never much cared for the brother being introduced and all of the stupid subplots that came with him, but when you get to the finale. Hoo boy, it sort of made it all worth it in the end. I think the way they handled the Psycho part of the story was incredible too. Had to be one of the tougher tasks in recent TV, and they aced it.

Just finished the fourth season and let's just say it's gonna be super tough for me to get through season 5 without breaking my TV screen. I haaaate Norman Bates! So much that I clapped everytime he got slapped and punched by Romero.

I've started watching this, just about halfway through season 2. Certainly not perfect, but I'm really enjoying it - especially the performances. Intrigued to see where it goes.
