I've been thinking about her a lot recently - I just got my Southern mom her coffee table book (she tore through it in one day, loved it) and in 2001, she and Nicole Kidman were my first-ever actress crushes (with Legally Blonde and Moulin Rouge!) - no, seriously, fourth grade me was obsessed. It's so wild that they ended up working together. I think Big Little Lies is probably her best ever performance, but as for her film work: 1999: Actress, Election2005: Actress, Walk the Line2014: Actress, WildThree nominations and no wins for me. She's just outside my 2001 Best Actress lineup for Legally Blonde. How about you?

She’s reliable and like you, she was an early crush but a couple of years before ( Cruel Intentions ). Maybe is because of the projects but she barely registers in a stronger way with me, so just the usual roles:
‘’99. Election ( lead ) ‘05. Walk the Line ( supporting )
I like her a lot in How Do You Know, but she’s stuck with a terrible script.

One of the most watchable actresses for me. Her performances in Legally Blonde, Election and Freeway are among the most enjoyable ones I've seen. If I make a list of my Top 50 favorite performances ever, these 3 are definitely gonna be in it. Be it cute romcoms like Pleasantville, musicals like Walk the Line and hard hitting dramas like Wild, when she's on, she's just magical..And I think she was the MVP of the first season of Big Little Lies. Love her!

LOVE me some Reese. Incredible 90s-2000s run, always consistent and reliable, can pull off comedy or drama with flying colors. Freeway, Election, and Legally Blonde are all IMO iconic larger-than-life comic figures that are lived-in and fully formed and all totally distinct from each other. Not a lot of actresses can say they pulled that off.
1991 - Man in the Moon 1996 - Freeway (runner-up) 1999 - Election (runner-up) 2001 - Legally Blonde 2005 - Walk the Line 2014 - Wild (runner-up)

Much better actress than what I used to think of her when she was younger and playing in these silly comedies and rom coms but not something really special imo.

Just a nom for Election. She's generally not my cup of tea.
