Solid lineup... but I really don’t vibe with YWNRH.

With all this Eighth Grade love, I’m surprised neither Fisher nor Hamilton were nominated.

Every single one of you who didn't vote for Mandy are going to have to explain yourself before the Throne of Judgment. And I know who you are.

how far off was Zoe Kazan? She nearly made my ballot and now I'm wishing I had given her some help. Surprised (and bummed) that Foy came out on top, but First Man as a whole really overperformed tonight. Had no idea it was so popular.

Why? Beats me...

Rather than us bickering over who nommed it for more categories, how about we turn our attention to the faithless sons of bitches who shut it out of the AMARAs while bullshit like Annihilation and Suspiria scored multiple nods?

Great job guys and great presentation! 2018 gave us two all time great films (An Elephant Sitting Still and The Wild Pear Tree) and both weren't nominated for anything. I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm disappointed nonetheless. I'm not a fan of the results, but that was expected, since I rarely agree with the consensus of the posters on these forums. The only lineup I consider great is the best choreography one. Especially disappointing is the Best Picture lineup, where all of the nominees are not even in my top 20 of the year. I haven't watched three of them though (Hereditary, Eighth Grade and You Were Never Really Here) and probably won't, because I highly doubt I'll be a fan of them. Once again, great job!

- Glad to see MI: Fallout getting some love. - Fantastic Beasts was robbed of Production Design. - Surprised Mary Queen of Scots didn't get a costume design nom but those Blake lively costumes were really good too but Lively looks stunning in any dress. Ryan Reynolds is one lucky bastard. - Glad Shadow made into Choreography - Black Panther's score was robbed. - RBG missed documentary?! - Pleasantly surprised by Guilty's inclusion in foreign language category - Beale Street was well shot but Shadow should've gotten that Cinematography nod. - No Emily Blunt in performer of the year? - This board loves Bad Times at the El Royale too much. - Harry Melling was robbed of a supporting nom. - Claire Foy yaass!! - No Amy Adams? WTF? - No Willem Dafoe, Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali? - No Rosamund Pike 2018 AMARAs nominations are the most inconsistent so far.

Great presentation, and there's actually a lot of great stuff here! Others not so much (looks as if y'all would nominate Hereditary for documentary if you could), but still. Lovely to see 2 women directors since last year was so great for that, though I feel Debra Granik could've made it too. I'm guessing High Life was ineligible this year, so I just wasted away some votes Was gonna say this is a lot better than the Oscars but then I remembered that even they nominated Pawlikowski

Very much enjoyed the presentation even if I wasn't here in time to give instant reactions, so just brief thoughts: . A bummer that Happy as Lazzaro didn't receive a single nod, not even foreign film, and somehow The Guilty made it . Surprised by the Burning love ( Picture, Director, screenplay !! ), honestly I thought it didn't have a lot of chances and Cold War would be nominated instead . Also never cross my mind First Man was that well regarded here to actually make it into Best Picture, I like it but at least is not a film I see at a cold distance: You Were Never Really Here or The Rider . That lineup is a rollercoaster . Where's Mandy ? I have to admit I haven't seen it but it felt like it had a lot of fans, and zero, nothing . The love for Suspiria !!! I'm all for it, except for Tilda, I don't think she ever peaks in this role . Spider-Verse deserved more ( visual effects, music, even Picture ) . Best Actor. Lol, actually I like all the performances but I thought it would be way different. For me this was the year of the millenials ( Joe Cole, Yoo Ah-In, Charlie Plummer, Alex Wolff, BlindspottingX2, Lakeith Stanfield, Andrew Garlfied, Zain Al Rafeea, etc.. ) . Best Actress. Favourite girls as it should be. McKenzie is a nice surprise, but what on earth is Hall doing here ? she's faultless, if anything Shayna McHayle and Haley Lu Richardson deserved it more . I love The Favourite but I don't get the production design nomination, a few furtinutes, bunnies and flowers aside, everything was already there, this is not Roma when they actually built the walls from the ground . Waaaaay to much love for Annihilation Sound, I get it but it has the look of a Syfy channel sunday afternoon tv show . Border was robbed in make-up, where the hairstyles not convincing enough ? . If Climax made it into choreography, the next logic step was ...soundtrack, and seems like The Favourite lead the noms, so why wasn't considered for this ? . The score line-up is almost awesome, it was a great year, my choices didn't have a lot of chances, but worth mention: Burning, Under the Silver Lake and Knife+Heart the entire scores are on youtube . Debut feature: I will never ge the praise for Eight Grade I think it lacks a wider vision of the experience, it just goes in a couple of directions, and I felt it was a bit tacky the way it aproach certain subjects that Mattsby already pointed out, but Fisher deserves a lot of credit of how she manages to built an actual character out of what she's given. Sorry to Bother You has the attitude but I think it goes off the rails on the final act. A couple of suggestions: Custody and The Heiresses ( this one it's on netflix ) . Cinematography lineup is strong ( although Beale Street was too cutie for my taste same for the score ). I'm just gonna give a shut out to Diego Garcia, he should be more well known by now but I guess his work is in under the radar films. He shot the latest from Carlos Reygadas ad it's worth watching just for that, it has a couple of long shots ( the landing of an airplane and one from the street to an auditorium where there's a symphony concert and even goes through the instruments ) that will take your breathe away . Nice to see Weisz for performer, honestly didn't cross my mind because I saw her other two films the year before, lol, and I don't think Tyrre Henry should be here, haven't seen all those films but in some of them his roles are paper thin, and it's not like he did wonders with them. I think Pattinson or Claire Foy deserved it better
