Fallout 3. New Vegas is great too, although I have yet to still beat it (was probably only a few missions away).

It tells you what happens to literally every person/faction that you encountered and depending on what you did during the game affects how they end up (though some things I *thought* I was doing the right thing... but no... it was not the right thing).

I have never played a single frame of the Fallout franchise, and I've always wanted to . . . but at this point, I won't until you play, and beat, Alien: Isolation. Then I'll play whichever Fallout you choose. Deal?

New Vegas. Even 4 with the option to modify weapons a bajillion different ways (including with mods on the PS4 - can't comment on XB1 or PC), New Vegas+DLC still has way better weapons and ammo options. Also like the companions and their stories a lot more. 4 has had very disappointing DLC.
However, Point Lookout is the best thing I have played of 3, NV, and 4. I liked it better than the main games.

I couldn't stand Point Lookout. Some of the Ferals would literally take about 20 headshots to kill and force me to go through about 10 stimpacks. Plus, I spent all that time looking for that missing girl and IT WASN'T EVEN A QUEST IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE!

But I tended to just shoot them from afar, use the dart gun to cripple them, or run away screaming. I can't recall about the missing girl quest, but was it the catalyst for going there and just ended up being a red herring or something?

Oooo. I love those type of endings where your choices actually have a lot of meaning. I'll have to finish it then once I'm off for summer.

Fallout: New Vegas. It's so bizarre and off the wall, but awesome.
The writing was so much better; I'm hoping Bethesda have a standalone Fallout game planned with Obsidian.
