Looking like a 4-day opening weekend between 80m and 100m.

I'm glad I don't bet on how well films would open because I thought Aladdin would disappoint, but apparently not. At Awards_Watch, tyjagi said that it received an "A" Cinemascore, so looks like another big hit for Disney.
Too bad about Dumbo. Sure it had problems, but I wanted it to do well because it reunited Michael Keaton and Tim Burton again.

Sure it had problems, but I wanted it to do well because it reunited Michael Keaton and Tim Burton again. Aladdin looked like it would disappoint, after the poor reviews started coming in, and tracking suggested it wasn't opening great, but I guess people just like the brand too much. I think it could have even opened bigger if Disney hadn't dropped the ball on the first trailer so much. Dumbo's biggest problem is that while I thought it was fine, and it did its own thing unlike many of these other live action remakes, it also really drained the life out of its classic story, and went too much in the opposite direction etc... too dark for its own good. As a result a lot of people thought it was rather "lifeless", and too much like modern Burton!

In Endgame news, it’s $137,708,351 away from the worldwide record.
Im thinking it’ll be a “by this much” case.

That's good for Aladdin. So judging by those numbers, Dumbo was straight up rejected by GP.

That's good for Aladdin. So judging by those numbers, Dumbo was straight up rejected by GP. Aside from the problems therealcomicman117 mentioned, I think that it suffered the same problem that Mary Poppins Returns ultimately did, and that was Disney overestimated how popular those properties still were with people. Not to say that they don't have their fans, but I think unfortunately for them a lot of the fans are older and those properties haven't been passed down to younger people the way that Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Aladdin, etc. have.

To add to that, something like Dumbo was made from a different era, when it was assumed the circus was going to be around forever, and not more or less seen as outdated or unethically wrong. In that regard it's very much a product of its time. In comparison Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast, and so-forth's conceptional stories are a lot more timeless.

Aladdin exceeds expectations. Meanwhile Endgame is doing an uphill battle. Looks like it will fall short of Avatar's worldwide gross.

The common thread appears to be the romance angle.
