This is a bit sad. Hope he was paid well to take a steaming dump on his legacy. But hardly surprising at this point.

It's sort of cute......I think a lot of people are going to be surprised how much these guys will be visible post-Irishman. Like a lot of people think of that film as a farewell tour but all of them (except Pesci), director included have a lot of stuff in the works, even stuff like this. Regardless of how that film turns out - they are still churning stuff out and some of it is shaky at best too. They will always try to match this one and it's pretty impossible to match this masterpiece tbh

I can't wait for Denzel to pitch his Malcolm X burgers for Burger King(With "Glory" Onion rings). Or Daniel Day Lewis to come out of retirement start dressing up as Daniel Plainview and promoting a Milkshake brand. I'd call both those guys asshole sellouts if they did anything remotely similar. Don't care how much I admire them
It's shameless money-grabbing. The guy is loaded anyway. This is just who he is now.

He is aware that when Pacino did it, it was in a movie mocking this very thing, right?

The one with the Muppets was so much better.

The commercial itself is pretty funny!
As for De Niro, we've known for years that he's prepared to sell his reputation and legacy for money.
Does it spoil his legacy? I don't think so. He will always be one of the most influential and revered actors ever, regardless of what he puts out. People remember the quality, not the dross. Look at Brando.
Does it sully his reputation? A bit. It would be far classier to not do cheesy commercials & bad films.
The real question is whether he delivers in The Irishman. If he does, no one will care about the bad choices.
