Hasn't been posted about yet, finished "airing" last week. 10 eps, shot in as many days by Stephen Frears -- though, it premiered as a 100m feature at Sundance and then on May 4th at Tribeca. Written by Nick Hornby starring Rosamund Pike and Chris O'Dowd. from Rolling Stone: Each of its 10 episodes runs only 10 minutes, taking place entirely in and around the pub where the estranged spouses meet to pregame their weekly marriage counseling. And the installments are lightly comedic at least as often as they are probing about all the problems — including, as Tom describes Louise’s transgressions, a “spot of infidelity” — that brought them to this inflection point.
So yea, the eps are bitesize and there's a harmless lightness to them - though ep5 is rather tense and the highlight. Some of the patter is sharp, deceptive, very funny, some of it isn't. O'Dowd the standout - I like his slack deadpan style of humor, and no one watched it (I've only seen S1) but he's underrated in Get Shorty. Frears keeps the roundelay engaging, with subtle framing shifts - not nearly on par with his great A Very English Scandal from last year, but a nice 7/10ish and another notch in his eclectic TV career - not least the shorter episodic form which we may well see more regularly in the future.
