Pfeiffer went from has been status to quite possibly the most in demand over 60 actress outside of Close and Streep. I can actually see her getting back on an Oscar radar if the career resurgence continues.

This project is tapping into their dual re-emergence statuses..........

She had buzz and hit precursors for two of her performances in the last three years. Her issue is that she doesn’t campaign much and doesn’t play the award season game as well as some of her counterparts, so unless the year is weak and/or she is undeniable, she’s going to struggle to be nominated. Before ‘Where is Kyra”, Pfieffer has not had a noteworthy film role since 2009. She had three consecutive critical and box office flops in 2013 and not much since. A four year stretch with nothing after consecutive flops for an actress in their fifties can be a death sentence. Not to say that I expected her to never work again, but she’s bounced back in a major way.

While not a film comeback on Pfeiffer's level - at 60 Bening has a somewhat comeback of her own too this year though - she's never won the biggest award in any medium (Emmy/Oscar/Tony) and once that seemed a given and then ..........sort of not .........the last 10 years. Her Tony nod this year was her first in 20+ years.........her Oscar nod (if she gets it, likely I think, that performance is pretty buzzed about and seen) is the first since 2010 and if she wins the BSA Oscar that's really quite a year just alone - not often do you pull Tony nod/Oscar nod in the same season.........

I really hope she wins the Oscar this time. In my opinion, she could have won in any of her previous nominations and should have at least one award.
I love her acting and I have a soft spot for every artist with 3-4 nods (or even more) but no win.
