Guardian is reporting that Wenger is staying. As long as he's making money, the board doesn't seem to care.

I normally despise international breaks but with the way everything is panning out right now, the Arsenal team need some respite from one another.

I normally despise international breaks but with the way everything is panning out right now, the Arsenal team need some respite from one another. How many goals do you think England will put up on Lithuania? Depends on what England turn up lol. I quite like the team Southgate [England Manager] has selected; he's picking players on form as opposed to reputation. Just look at the omission of Wayne Rooney, our record goalscorer. It's a new phase in the England squad and Southgate has recognized that -- there's too much talent out there to not do better than what we've achieved in past tournaments. I'm not particularly bothered about WC qualifiers because we tend to waltz through them with ease. But when it comes to the real deal, facing the crème de la crème, we've been an embarrassment. Long story short, we'll beat Lithuania with ease. I just hope this isn't a continuation of a regular occurrence where we sail through the group stages only to falter at the main stage. Only time will tell.

World Cup qualifiers for most national teams resume today after some action yesterday. Hoping for USA and Portugal wins today. Venezuela lost yesterday and its qualification hopes are now on life support.

Wales couldn't pull off the much needed win against Ireland (lol). That draw along with Serbia's win over Georgia puts Serbia first in that group (double lol).
They should just call off the action in Group G, even people living under a rock will know that it'll be Italy and Spain going through. The only unknown is which gets direct qualification and which gets a playoff.
And Iceland fans, rejoice! Ukraine's loss to Croatia along with Iceland's win over Kosovo puts Iceland in 2nd place, good for a playoff spot if qualifiers were to end today.
And that's it for today on the European side. USA/Honduras and Mexico/Costa Rica are in 3 hours and I don't think anyone really cares about the other confederations.

Argentina has Di Maria, Higuain, Aguero, Dybala...and they all have scored less goals in this qualifiers than Paulinho in seven games (and he scored against Argentina and Uruguay, not lesser opponents).

And the US goes up before the 5 minute mark. Excellent start, gotta get out of this -5 goal differential hole.
These uniforms USMNT is wearing tonight look like the Portuguese uniforms. Lmao

Holy shit Bradley scored. Did we suddenly get transported to a parallel universe?
EDIT: And now it's 3-0 after 31mins. We might actually get out of this goal differential hole in 1 game.

Pulisic makes it 4-0 15 seconds into the 2nd half.
Trump is smiling.
EDIT: Make that 5-0.
2nd EDIT: Sweet Jesus! Clint Dempsey gets the hat trick in style.

Horrible injury for Seamus Coleman Nothing, and I mean NOTHING makes me more squeamish than seeing something like this. I put it in spoilers for anyone who has an aversion for horrific sports injuries Dirty player or not, it was a shocking tackle. And Coleman has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Get well soon lad.

And Portugal pulls off the much needed win against Hungary. Unfortunately Switzerland managed to beat Latvia so we're still stuck in 2nd. I watched the first half of that Switzerland/Latvia game and I don't know how Portugal managed to lose to this Swiss team. France actually got scored on by Luxembourg. Let that sink in for a second. Sure, it was a penalty but still. France should still manage to get 1st in that group no problem though. Sure Sweden just won 4-0 but they played Belarus (lol). And Holland lost to Bulgaria 2-0. Put a fork in them, they're done. Today's Group H action was pretty lame tbh. Belgium really should've pulled off the win against Greece instead of limping to a draw thanks to a last minute goal.

I hadn't seen those pictures and they didn't replay it on TV, I'm so squeamish yet I can't seem to look away. Poor guy, never want to see that happen to anyone. I know you how you feel, I can't stomach these sort of things but there's some sort of morbid fascination I have about seeing a limb so badly displaced. This is one of the worst leg breaks in football for a while. Remember Eduardo's injury for Arsenal against Birmingham? Fuck me that was orrible'.

Hmm Northern Ireland managed to beat Norway 2-0. I was expecting a draw tbh. I guess I'm underestimating Northern Ireland. Lewandowski only scored 1 goal in Poland's 2-1 victory so Ronaldo is now the sole leader in the goal scoring chart for qualifiers.

This is one of the worst leg breaks in football for a while. Remember Eduardo's injury for Arsenal against Birmingham? Fuck me that was orrible'. Just thinking about that Eduardo injury makes me feel ill That day not only completely derailed our title challenge (letting Birmingham score an injury time penalty to draw 2-2) but Eduardo was never the same player after. He was in scintillating form and was quickly becoming one of the most prolific strikers in the league; his eye for goal was unbelievable. An injury like that just scars you not just physically but mentally, and makes you think twice about your actions on the pitch whereas beforehand it wasn't an issue, you just played your game. Let's not forget Ramsey a few years ago against Stoke too. Our injury record in past seasons has been nothing short of comical tbqh.
