I completely forgot this existed and it's out tomorrow. I know it'll likely be trash, but I'll kinda have to watch it. The original was one of the films that set my on my path to being a horror nut when I caught it as a pre-teen, so I'm intrigued to see what they do with this.

It will probably be crap...
I don't really remember how many CP movies have been made nor how many I've seen (2-3 maybe).
Not a die hard fan. I think I'll skip this.

Planning to double header it with Toy Story tomorrow, which I feel is fitting.

I remember seeing the first Child's Play, and then parts of the others, probably not the whole film though. I would say that this one is better than the original. About the only thing I liked more in the original is the origin story of Chucky because this one it was lame; although, it tied to the whole message of the film. It's not really scary at all though, a few jump scares, but that's about it. I thought that there were consistent laughs though, and Brian Tyree Henry and Aubrey Plaza really elevate the material. I also have to single out Gabriel Bateman. With another child actor, it could have been really terrible, but for me he really sold his character. I would say that Brad Dourif and Mark Hamill were about even for me. I guess Dourif was probably scarier, but I think Hamill had to display more range.

It was a lot of fun and definitely better than the original. Maybe because I saw it with low expectations or whatever, but I enjoyed it for most part. Could have been a little longer and several things could have been developed better but it's fun, surprisingly violent. The humour worked for me and the cast was shining, especially Aubrey Plaza.

My favorite part of this was listening to Hamill's delightfully creepy singing during the end credits.
