Mulan, the first movie I saw in a theatre, is 19 years old. Many of the film stars I grew up knowing are middle aged, older, or dead. Kids born in 2004 are now teenagers Many children don't know what a videotape is.
In some ways, I feel like I live in a time warp, even though I was only born in 1995. I'm behind the times. I guess I would be ideal for 1998.....

For me, it's usually remembering how the stuff that still feels fairly new and recent has already had a good chunk of time pass. Like earlier I watched Hellboy: The Golden Army and remembered it came out almost a decade ago.

Like earlier I watched Hellboy: The Golden Army and remembered it came out almost a decade ago. That's OK. I still think of movies from 2001 and 2002 as being extremely recent. I still remember many of them getting released.

Many children don't know what a videotape is. Or a phone booth, probably. Along with a typewriter, record disc/record player, cassettes, and floppy disc. All before they got phase out by their successors. I have my moments of that too. Also things from the early 2000s are starting to look nostalgic to me now. Like some songs, movies, music videos, shows, and fashion senses. There are still some late 90s influence looking back at the year 2000-2002, lol, but that period still has its own identity.

Being reminded that VHS tapes officially finally stopped being printed over a year ago. That especially makes me feel old.

Not really about feeling old but it makes me think about the passage of time...My prom was two fucking years ago. Yet I could swear it was like two months ago.
The worst part is that I legit thought about the same passage of time feel when I was a sophomore in high school three years ago.
But that's alright though. As soon as I get my b.s

In class a few weeks ago my professor mentioned an event we had at school a few years back where some Tibetan monks came and made a sand mandala and did some other cool stuff. She said how it was kind of a long time ago so probably none of us even knew about it, and I said something about how I went to the event and it wasn't that long ago, it was probably like 2008 or so. That's when the rest of the class reminded me that they were in elementary/middle school in 2008. And I took the day off work to drive to the event.
Also in my first semester back in college our physics class was put into groups cause the classroom had tables that seated like 4-5 people. And I got into my group and they all just sat there without talking, so because I'm obnoxious and don't know how not talking works I started every morning by asking the Friendship Question of the Day and getting everyone to answer. It started with normal stuff like favorite animal/color/mattress brand, but the class was every day so eventually I had to get more creative, and one day I asked what Legends of the Hidden Temple team they would be on, and none of them had ever seen it.
I'm not even old, but being in school with people 4-6 years younger than you has a very strong aging effect so I'm basically an old man inches from death.
Then again I'm also going blind and have terrible joints, so maybe I'm actually 90.

In 9th grade, my lab partner in science was pregnant. Saw her the other day with the kid, who's like 12 now.
Feeling hipster for watching movies on VHS, when I really just never stopped.
Watching the Potter series all the way through.

Realizing I'm coming to a point where I agree with parents in film, especially when it comes to Disney. Or thinking about the price of houses and apartments in shows and in films and how they afford all of this.
Remembering being kicked out of a screening of Titanic as I was too young, and now the film is turning freaking 20 years.

When I watch pro wrestling and Goldberg just won the World Title...and I'm reminded that I was a big fan of that guy WHEN I WAS 11 FUCKING YEARS OLD.
I had a conversation with a friend on Facebook and I realized that she invited me to her birthday party when I was 5 years old. I'm about to turn 29.

I can make you all feel old. I had to explain to a ten-year-old what a CD was recently. There are children out there who do not even know what a compact disc is folks. I had to explain the concept of having music on a disc and having to pop it in a player. Never mind missing out on your teenage mix CDs.... They have lived for a decade without ever using/seeing a CD! Not a tape. Not a video. A CD!!!!.
