93 on Metacritic so far, looks like the show will continue to be one of the very best on right now!

And meanwhile I'm still on episode 5 of the first season ... I need to figure out a way I can binge this more regularly.

Loved the 10 minute scene of digging. Wait is that sarcasm? Because I actually did love that scene.

Finally got a chance to watch this. What a great season premier. Don't see this show letting me down prior to it ending.

Giving this a bump. Last two episodes have been some of the best I've seen on television.

Giving this a bump. Last two episodes have been some of the best I've seen on television. Yep yep yep. I've been thoroughly enjoying this season from the beginning, but they've taken a huge step-up the last two weeks. The final portion of "Dyatkovo" is just masterful.

The more I think about it, the more perfect last night's episode feels. There was not a single thing that I didn't find fascinating or riveting or even funny in some moments, as well as disturbing as fuck when it came to Tuan. I was liking this season a lot before, while having some issues over how slowly it was developing, but these last 3 episodes have brought it surging right back to the top of its game. I can't wait for the finale!

Wow! That premiere was amazing. All the songs choices blew me away especially, and that scene with Elizabeth in Mexico? Woo lord.

Seriously, not enough people watch this show here . Fantastic kick-off to the final season. I love the visible toll going solo is taking on Elizabeth, played as always to perfection by Keri Russell. Matthew Rhys was of course excellent as well, balancing the joys of Philip's newfound freedom with his consternation over Elizabeth's decline. That last argument scene was short and sharp in the best way. I'm dreading this show coming to a close. 9/10

Really great episode. The "Don't Dream it's Over" opening was incredible. They are so good at handling time jumps on this show too... loved Philip being really into the travel agent thing and dancing at the bar. And now Elizabeth appears to be even more fucked up than Philip was the last few seasons... wonder how long until she admits she's had enough. Only thing that disappointed me was the tiny amount of Stan. Also really glad that it was an hour and seventeen minutes (including commercials). Longer episodes should help make up for the shortened season. And if FX could let Kurt Sutter make every fucking episode of SOA in the later seasons 90 minutes, the least they could do is give The Americans some extra time.

I had no idea it was a 10 episode season... well like you said if they continue to be longer episodes, I guess I won't mind as much.

Yep, freaking excellent premiere. That opening montage was painstakingly beautiful and really set the stage for the season wonderfully. The dynamic between Philip and Elizabeth is heartbreaking and compelling and I'm already brimming with anxiety over what sort of conclusion they're building to. Also really love what they're doing with Oleg this season, throwing him right back into the thick of things. Great stuff all around, I'm excited as hell that this show is back.

Oh god, the bloated runtime of the last couple of seasons of Sons of Anarchy (especially season 7) was goddamn painful. That said, I trust Joe Weisberg and co. enough to use their extra time a lot more wisely than Kurt Sutter and co., especially because of how engaging and well-paced the premiere was.

Fantastic premiere. I love the pro-Gorbachev vs. anti-Gorbachev factions. Really great way to shake things up for the final season and increase the tension between Elizabeth and Phillip. And damn was that kill scene brutal. Love the way they're using Paige as well. Oh and Margo Martindale is finally in the main cast! Hope we'll see Frank Langella and Allison Wright again before the series is over.

That ending last night was wild. Great episode overall, but not quite on the level of the opener.

Episode 5 was fantastic, probably the best of the season so far. That Philip-Paige scene was tremendous, and Elizabeth continuing her insane killing spree was disturbing and brilliantly done. That final development with Kimmy has me dying to see the fallout. 9.5/10
The final season has been rock solid so far, though not quite the fireworks I was hoping for - it's yet to match the dizzying heights of seasons 3 and 4, anyway. Still, the season is young and things are just starting to come to a boil. Bring on the final stretch!

Great great episode this week, and I'm hoping it only continues to accelerate from here. Tons of great moments this week, including all of the Paige drama, Elizabeth's ruthless kills, and Philip's final phone-call with Kimmy. Loved the hell out of it, and hope that the final season has more like this still in store.

I gasped in the last episode 6x05) when Phillip told Kimmy to stay away from communist countries. I can’t even begin to imagine how pissed Elizabeth would be if she heard that.

The buildup right now is phenomenal. This season has been fantastic so far and are the performances have been especially strong. I’ve never had so much faith in a show not ending in disappointment.
