Oh honey, I think the repeaters, like Tilda, are more interesting as there's some kind of muse like chemistry between the director and the actress. Clearly she's inspirational enough for them to want to continue to work with her.

Some actresses I know, just collect big names because you've got a bigger chance of being in a hit (unless you're Nicole). Of course, if you work with a truly legendary director, you'll get to be in all those documentaries where you get to talk about them over and over again and tell the world if they wore their socks in bed... (can we edit that out?)

Of course, the best situation to be in, is known as The Witches after Silvana Mangano, who made Le Streghe (The Witches 1967) produced by her husband, the great Dino De Laurentis, who invited all the great Italian directors of the time, De Sica, Pasolini, Visconti, and others, to make a movie that comprised of segments direct by each featuring his wife. It's brilliantly self indulgent; Mangano is rarely off the screen; plays a multitude of characters; and in one fantasy segment has a change of outfit every few seconds (which no doubt, she kept); got to cross all those big names off her list in one movie and to top it all got to make love with a young Clint Eastwood! What more could an actress possibly want?!
