Best Stunt: Black Panther Best Supporting Actress: Emily Blunt! Best Supporting Actor: Mahershala Ali Best Actor: Rami Malek Best Actress: Glenn Close Best Ensemble/Picture: Black Panther
Why wasn't Blunt nominated for either AQP or MPR? Seems kind of odd, she would win here, but good for her.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Where we stand today:
Best Actor - Malek won the Globe and SAG. Bale won the Globe and Critics Choice. If the BAFTAs pick Bale, he'll be the favorite to win. Vice Verse for Malek.
Best Actress - Glenn Close has wins at Globes, Critics Choice, and SAG. A win at BAFTA, means she'll bring out the broom. Olivia Colman won the Globe, and Lady Gaga tied with Close at the Critics Choice awards.
Best Supporting Actor - Mahershala Ali won the Globe, Critics Choice, and SAG. Like Close, he'll be the heavy favorite to win, if he takes home the BAFTA.
Best Supporting Actress - Regina King won the Globe and Critics Choice. Whoever wins the BAFTA will probably win the Oscar.
Best Picture - Green Book won the Globe and PGA. Roma won the Critics Choice. Black Panther won the SAG. Bohemian Rhapsody won the Globe. The films nominated for all the major Oscar nominations -- picture, director, screenplay, and editing -- have yet to win a single major picture, director, or screenplay trophy. BlacKkKlansman, The Favourite, and Vice continue to under-perform. Looks like it's going to be Roma vs. Green Book.
Onto the DGAs and WGA awards.

Come on, that little girl was better than Blunt. And please, she wasn't going to score a nod for MPR cause it is too iconic.

shocked they went with Blunt but I don't think it means much. This is still Adams' race to lose. King doesn't have enough support and Weisz's best (and probably only) shot is at BAFTA. Plus the Academy clearly loved Vice.
Black Panther taking ensemble is also surprising, and just continues to show how little stats seem to have meant this year since it's coming nowhere near a BP win. I guess it weakens Blackkklansman though.
Otherwise these picks were incredibly predictable. Ali further confirms his frontrunner status, Close beats out the largely unknown foreigner, and Malek strengthens his position but I still think Bale takes the BAFTA (either way it's really hard to care about the Lead Actor race this year).

What an unpredictable season! Except Director and Supporting Actor nothing seems to have a clear front runner. I still think Roma will win best picture. As for Actor, Malek got a strong boost but Bale is not out of the question yet. Close I think sealed the Oscar in Actress category. Poor Amy Adams though loosing SAG is a big blow to her but I still think she has a chance as The Academy clearly liked Vice. Two time Academy winner Mahershala Ali.
