The Brig was one of the first films I watched when I first got interested in acting and the Living Theatre (which as a troupe is referenced in a great video on this board in the the "nods for Vanessa Redgrave" thread") - that play and film of it and the Living Theatre's work is American Theater History and it never came close to Broadway - we should never forget that. Hollywood isn't all of film, Broadway isn't all of the stage....I often talk about plays being turned into film and how valuable that is ........it was and is a great place to start.
RIP

Oh man, I won't be able to sleep tonight. I knew the day was coming though; he had a long life and immigrated before WWII. Floored. Still. RIP, underground renegade legend and top 10 director.

Oh honey, I loved him after seeing him in the Maya Deren doc declaring coffee cans containing her work were ' the holy grail of cinema'. He was quite a character! Thanks for making this post. RIP Jonas
