Haven't seen either but can't help but notice their similarities (Bale + Adams most obviously) and how well they both landed with the Academy despite getting stinkeroo reviews from the cinephilic crowd.

I have a lot of problems with Vice, but comparing it to American Hustle is like comparing filet mignon with a year-old chicken tender with freezer burn you find in the back of your fridge while cleaning it out.

both are awful to different degrees but Hustle was all-around more entertaining and less grating.

Vice really gave me a real headache - I mean it aggressively annoyed me which is rare..........American Hustle I just thought was a substance lacking film and all style but it didn't bother me in the same way.

Hustle is damn entertaining. Vice I respect a lot with what McKay was doing but a lot of it didn’t work.

Yeah, Vice is far from good, but it’s still way better than that DOR dumpster fire that some people call a film.

If I recall American Hustle actually got very good reviews at the time.
Despite all the Haterade I just thought American Hustle was more average/mediocre than anything else. Vice was pretty much a trainwreck on all fronts aside from the acting.
