Gave this a re watch last night (its streaming on Netflix btw) and I gotta say after thinking it over its a pretty blah / mediocre film . Not a terrible film by any means but definitely not deserving 5 Oscar noms and a very high rating on IMDB (its rated 8/10 on there) . I may be in the minority here but I wasn't too big of a fan of Dicaprio in this role . For all the shit he gets about his shaky accent in Gangs in New York, I thought his South African accent was pretty laughable and shaky at best . But he was nominated for it so what do I know . and some of the dialogue is cringeworthy bad . " In America , its bling bling. But over here its bling bang" what do you think of this film?

I think it's incredibly (below) average on nearly all fronts. Leo getting nodded for this rather than The Departed was definitely a bit of a head scratcher when I finally got around to actually seeing this.

It's bad and DiCaprio's accent sticks out like a sore thumb.

Great movie.
Actually that accent was pretty spot on.

It's definitely worth watching. The movie highlights important issues about the war and diamonds extracted from conflict zones in Africa.
