Saw someone float this idea around on another site and I thought it was an interesting idea.
Wasn't sure where to add this so mods feel free to move it.

It's not like MBJ was anything more than a serviceable surface acting level villain performance, he can be such a souless actor at times, he struggles to add depths and dimensions to his roles. But Daniel Kaluuya himself was not good at all in this movie, so him playing Killmonger couldn't have been bad/worse for the movie.

When Kaluuya is given something to chew on i.e. Get Out and Black Mirror, I would argue that he's bette than Jordan.

I really dig Kaluuya as an actor but he's like 5'8 (at best) and not physically imposing enough for the role of Killmonger . MBJ was perfectly cast in that role.

Kaluuya proved with Widows that he can be an excellent, terrifying villain (even if he has hamstrung by a shoddy script), but there was nothing more to be improved upon with Killmonger. I don't subscribe to the hyperbole that he was as good or as developed as Heath Ledger's Joker (because, come on), but Jordan did as well as anyone could with the script and character.

I think he would've been fine since the role doesn't require all that much apart from strong physique (which he could've built) and sounding mean throwing out one-liners like 'Wassup?' and 'Ima be the king now!'. That said, Jordan has the cool element to him which Kaluuya kinda lacks.

He probably could have played it well, but I struggle to see him doing it better than Jordan.

I don't think Kaluuya has the sex-appeal required to sell the part of Killmonger.

Jordan was laughably bad... so, sure.

I hated Jordan in BP, so it would be a great change of pace with someone else.
I usually like Jordan (even in crap like That Awkward Moment) but each one of his line readings felt so... awkward.
