Oh honey, I rented this thinking it might be a foreign language prequel to Magic Mike and I was just wowed! Wow! I was really drawn into the adventure and just stunned by the spectacular cinematography. This movie is breathtaking... I also thought it had shades of Deliverance and 2001 A Space Odyssey. Cosmic! 10/10 Who else has seen this and what did they think?

It's my runner-up that year to Mad Max: Fury Road. Otherwise, it's a hell of an all-timer.

Has the potential to become a classic since there's nothing else like it. It has nothing in common with Herzog's Amazon epics for instance.
Incredible experience - saw it 3 times at the movies.

Somehow missed me by when I was making my 2016 lists and montage, but it sure as hell deserves a high placement there.

Amazing stuff. So much better than the similarly set Lost City of Z. Has that sort of magical realist quality it's very hard to get right on screen.
