Not yet mentioned Polanski in The Tenant, Von Sydow in Hour Of the Wolf, Caine in Dressed To Kill and Price in Theatre of Blood. Uta Hagen in The Other, Jodie Foster in The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane. Argento doesn't give a damn about actors but the amazing character of Peter Neal in the greeeeeeeeeeeeeeat Tenebre is such an ingenious creation I feel it necessary to shout out Anthony Franciosa there (and as far as Argento films for acting go at least, David Hemmings in Deep Red is practically giving a tour de force ).
