One of the most delightful buddy-comedies I've ever seen. Crowe and Gosling have such a fantastic chemistry that absolutely sizzles whenever they're on-screen, and if ever there was a movie that deserved the franchise treatment, it's this one. Gosling and Rice are in my lineups that year (and quite highly, at that), and after rewatching it a few weeks ago, Crowe got even better. The spit-take after he learns his wife's been fucking his dad is probably my favorite in cinematic history.

One of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Gosling is all time hysterical and Crowe is great as well. Their chemistry together is off the charts. Just a very, very entertaining movie and probably Shane Blacks best (with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang close behind). One of my favorites from this decade.

It's great, and one of the finest comedies of this decade so far. The performances are great for sure, but like any really strong comedy film it starts with the script, which is easily the best thing about this film. It makes my Top 10 of 2016.

Not a real fan - I like it somewhat and it has some laughs - my thumb is in the middle - but Shane Black is insanely overrated to me (same with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) - all that snarky humor gets real old real fast. Gosling is the best thing in it but fnck it goes on forever and gets more and more ludicrous without staying funny........... but everybody else loves it so I'm way in the minority.

I like it quite a bit - it's a really funny script and the chemistry between Gosling and Crowe is off the charts with the former giving one of his very best performances. I do think that Black's insistence on trying to shock us with the graphic violence and nudity sometimes hinders the movie a little bit, but I can also appreciate the flick for embracing its sleaziness.

It's okay but it's no "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"

It's okay, but I found it disappointing and not nearly on the same level as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. There are definitely laughs to be had, but there were long stretches where jokes just fell flat for me, making the experience weirdly dull. Gosling and Crowe are terrific together, but overall I thought it was a bit of a missed opportunity. Plus, I effing hate the precocious-child-who-helps-adult-figure-out-life trope that Shane Black loves for some reason.

Ughhh. Most of the jokes didn’t land for me and Gosling was just phony and goofy, Crowe stiff as hell, not even bother with Basinger and there was no way to buy Rice character. I like the soundtrack and set design though.

The overall movie itself didn't quite hold up for me on a rewatch, though I still really liked it a lot, but the Crowe-Gosling double team is gold.

One of the most overrated movies in recent years . One of Crowe's worst performances . What a disappointment ! Go ahead . Throw my liver to the dogs . I'm ready

One of my favs of 2016. Gosling & Crowe normally choose dark / gritty roles so it was refreshing to see them let loose & have some fun in this one (you can tell they had a blast making it ) . The chemistry between the two was quite good and I think it was superior to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang . Has a lot of re watch value to it too . 8/10

I know Gosling had La La Land the same year, but I'm still shocked he didn't get double nodded at the Globes for this. I thought he was a shoe-in.

It’s my #2 of 2016. Crowe and Gosling are at their best, but Angourie Rice is the standout. It’s funny with touches of poignancy in the right places, and definitely my favorite of Shane Black’s work so far.

I wish Mr. Bale would do a film like this one.

I wish Mr. Bale would do a film like this one. That would require him to have a.) charisma, and b.) a sense of humor.
