It's the next book I've got on the docket to read after I run through these Jim Crace books I've had on the backburner, but I'm super-stoked for it based on the premise.

Have you read The Long and Faraway Gone? Pretty great stuff... though his other two books were mostly Elmore Leonard rip-offs... I've heard so many great things about November Road that Kasdan being announced to direct it made me pretty disappointed.

A few writers I follow on social media rave him, though, so if I love November Road I'll give that one a go afterward. Yeah, Kasdan's kind of a disappointment. Not that he's a bad director, but I want someone with more of a flair for the era. Like an Anton Corbijn, maybe?

Never heard of the book before, but it seems quite interesting.
Also I think Kasdan is an interesting choice. I think he was a great director and especially screenwriter in the 80s (and contrary to most other I also give that attribute to Wyatt Earp), but after that he seems to have lost it. So it's maybe a chance to redeem himself a bit.
