Ummm, I laughed like crazy throughout that trailer.
Comes out Dec 21. Written/directed by Etan Cohen. Will Ferrell, John C Reilly, Ralph Fiennes, Rebecca Hall, Hugh Laurie, Rob Brydon.

Fiennes as Moriarty is genius.
And I will always be game for a Ferrell/Reilly movie (Anchorman 2 notwithstanding, although that technically didn't count).

If this is even half as good as Step Brothers/Talladega Nights, I'm so fucking game.

Wasn't Sacha Baron Cohen originally in talks to play Holmes with Ferrell as Watson? I would have liked to have seen that, but this looks like it could be a hoot.

I like how he has three different type "duo" movies - Western, traditional biopic, a full on comedy parody. And depending on Stan+Ollie release and if you count Wreck It Ralph sequel, he could have three movies in theaters at the same time at the end of the yr.

He'll definitely campaign hard for The Sisters Brothers. It's been his passion project for almost a decade, he and his wife are producers on it, even with its offbeat nature it still has a shot at things like Globes and technical awards (expect a Costume Design nod at the very least) and Best Actor is looking scarce right now. I think if he campaigns hard (especially with Annapurna behind him), he could get in purely on passion and being well-liked in the industry, especially as Phoenix won't be funneling votes from him. Stan & Ollie will probably be the "friendlier" option, but I think Reilly is playing for a nod for one of the two.

I saw a screening last week with a post Q&A with Audiard and Reilly.... and there was a whole team from Annapurna standing to the side of the stage that Reilly kept pointing out and thanking and otherwise he seemed so genuinely proud of the movie and pleaded to the audience to tell people about the movie. So yeah.....does seem like they/him are already in campaign mode. Also, he'll prob be doing press for the Wreck It Ralph movie and could double as more exposure to the other films....

I saw the film last night and he was just wonderful. Would love to see him and Gyllenhaal in the mix for nominations.

It looks really okay. I didn’t cringe as much as the last few times I saw a trailer for a Will Ferrell movie, but I don’t think it looks especially funny, even if I did chuckle a few times. It’s probably gonna be the last movie I see during that crowded weekend.

Wow, people are really not liking this. I thought the trailer was mildly funny but it even got a D+ on Cinemascore. I thought those kinds of cinemascore ratings were reserved for indie and arthouse films that get promoted to a mainstream audience.

Right now it stands about 8%. Yeah, I never thought the trailers looked all that good to begin with (despite the talents of both Ferrell and Riley). Sad to be proven even more right about this one than expected though. Supposedly, the test screening went so bad for this movie that Sony tried selling it off to Netflix before, but Netflix reject their offer (which is hilarious).
